App

Vibe
Interests (up to 3)
Looking for (optional)
Main personality traits: coffee and dogs. I have a favorite barista and they know my name. It's a big deal to me. Important question: what's the best dog breed? There is a right answer.
185 / 500 characters
Pros: always up for volunteering to dog-sit for anyone who asks or sitting in a café way longer than one coffee should take. Cons: I'm competitive about things that do not matter. Show me a picture of your dog, or your friend's dog. I'm not picky.
247 / 500 characters
Two truths and a lie: 1. I've never met a coffee shop I didn't want to try at least once. 2. I fold my laundry the day I wash it. 3. I will stop mid-sentence to point out a dog. Every time. Guess the lie in your first message.

Tinder bio ideas that actually get replies
Most people swipe on photos first, then check the bio to decide whether to message. A good Tinder bio gives them a reason to: something specific about you, plus an easy way in. Tinder allows up to 500 characters, but the bios that work tend to be two to four short sentences.
A few formats that reliably work:
- The list: "Into: coffee, trail running, bad horror movies." Quick to read, and every item is a conversation topic.
- Pros and cons: a self-aware joke that shows you don't take yourself too seriously.
- Two truths and a lie: the reply is built in. They just guess.
- The first-date pitch: "First date idea: a food crawl where we split everything." It shows you can make a plan.
- The question ending: finish with something easy to answer, like "What's your go-to karaoke song?"
Bumble bio ideas
On Bumble, plenty of first messages are replies to something in the profile, so your bio should give people an obvious place to start. Mention one or two specific things you do. Instead of "travel," say what kind of trips you take. And think about ending with a question.
Bumble profiles can also show prompts and interests, so the bio doesn't have to cover everything. Use it for personality and let the rest of the profile handle the facts. Short, specific and friendly is the sweet spot.
A simple dating profile template
Staring at a blank bio? Fill in this structure. It works on Tinder, Bumble and most other apps:
- Line 1, who you are: your job, or the thing your friends would describe you by. ("ER nurse and part-time baker.")
- Line 2, what you do: two or three interests, each with a detail. ("Weekends are for trail runs and trying to recreate restaurant pasta at home.")
- Line 3, what you want (optional): one plain sentence. ("Looking for something real.")
- Line 4, the hook: a question, challenge or date idea. ("Tell me your best taco spot.")
What to avoid in a dating bio
Most weak bios fail the same way: they tell a stranger nothing they can respond to, or they start with rules.
- Negativity: "no drama," "swipe left if…" and lists of dealbreakers read as bitter, even when you mean well.
- Clichés: "love to laugh," "partner in crime," "fluent in sarcasm" and "just ask" could describe anyone.
- Only emojis, a height or a star sign. Fine as extras, not as the whole bio.
- Anything untrue. Your bio sets up the first date, and you'll have to live up to it.
- Copying a bio word for word. Treat generated bios as a first draft and swap in details only you would write.
- A wall of text. If it takes more than a few seconds to read, cut it down.
What about Hinge?
Hinge doesn't have a free-text bio. Profiles are built from photos, basic details and three prompt answers, so the same principles apply prompt by prompt: be specific and leave a hook. Our Hinge prompt generator has answer ideas for the most popular prompts.

Funny dating bio examples
Self-aware beats try-hard. Laugh at yourself and leave them something to reply to.
- 1.Main personality traits: coffee, dogs and losing at Mario Kart. I'm a gracious winner and a very dramatic loser. Tell me your coffee order and I'll decide if we're compatible.
- 2.Pros: will share my fries, always has snacks, plans good dates. Cons: sings along to every song in the car, including the ads. Swipe right if you can live with that.
- 3.Two truths and a lie: I've been chased by a goose. I own more board games than plates. I've never hit snooze. Guess the lie in your first message.
Sweet dating bio examples
Warm and specific. Show what a normal week with you looks like.
- 1.Happiest on a slow Sunday: farmers market, a long walk, and something good in the oven. I'm a teacher, so I'm patient and I'll ask about your day. Looking for someone kind to share the small stuff with.
- 2.Soft spot for dogs, live music and handwritten notes. I'll remember your coffee order after hearing it once. Tell me the best part of your week.
- 3.A few things that make me happy: fresh sheets, old friends, and cooking for people I like. Would love someone to share a cooking class with. I'll even let you win.
Adventurous dating bio examples
Pitch the kind of plans you make, and invite them along.
- 1.Always down for a sunrise hike, a last-minute road trip or anything that starts with "okay, hear me out." Next on my list: learning to surf, badly. Pitch me a better first date than tacos after a hike.
- 2.Say yes first, figure it out later. That's how I ended up in a salsa class and on a solo trip to Lisbon. Where's the last place that actually surprised you?
- 3.Perfect Saturday: a trail with no cell service, a big lunch, and no plan after that. Looking for a co-pilot, not a passenger.
Straightforward dating bio examples
No bits, no games. Clear about who you are and what you want.
- 1.Nurse. Into running, cooking and bad reality TV. Looking for something serious with someone kind who actually makes plans. Say hi.
- 2.Job: software engineer. Into: climbing, board games, good ramen. Looking for: seeing where it goes. Ideal first date: a board game café.
- 3.Not great at bios, so here are the basics: I like hiking, my friends and people who text back. Looking for something real. Message me if that sounds like you.
Frequently asked questions
What should I put in my Tinder bio?
Two or three specific things about you (what you do, what you're into), optionally what you're looking for, and a hook at the end: a question, a challenge or a first-date idea. Specific details give matches something to message you about.
How long should a dating bio be?
Tinder allows up to 500 characters, but shorter usually works better. Two to four sentences is enough to show personality without turning into a wall of text. Other apps have their own limits, so check yours when you paste the bio in.
What's a good Bumble bio?
A short, friendly bio with one or two specific interests and an easy opening, like a question or a date idea. Since Bumble also shows prompts and interests, keep the bio focused on personality.
Does Hinge have a bio?
Not a free-text one. Hinge profiles are built from photos, basic details and three prompt answers. Use the Hinge prompt generator for answer ideas instead.
How does this dating bio generator work?
It combines hand-written sentence templates with phrases written for each interest and vibe, right in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere, and there's no account needed.
Should I copy a generated bio word for word?
Use it as a first draft. The best bios have at least one detail only you could write, so swap in a real place, a real habit or a real opinion before you save it.
